WTO launched an open competition for intending candidates for the WTO Young Professionals Programme which will run in 2025. The World Trade Organization Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a capacity-building program established for young graduates to busy practical work experience in the field of international trade.

It is a program lasting for a year in the headquarters of the WTO in Geneva, Switzerland. Those selected professionals will be made to receive a salary of CHF 3,500 and will enjoy medical cover and travel expenses. The program is scheduled to start in January 2025.

To date, the Programme has been completed by 109 professionals who have been in the course since it was launched in 2016. It is the chance for both growing up and living a year in Switzerland simultaneously.

Students from developing and least-developed countries that are members of the WTO can send their job applications. This program aims to help participants deepen their knowledge of the WTO, as well as the skills acquired are relevant for a career in international trade. Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a citizen of any state that is a member of the WTO. The list of members can be found on this page.
  • Have advanced university degrees in international trade-related subjects, which include law, economics as well as other subjects relevant to WTO work.
  • possess two years of related experience as a requirement.
  • be fluent in English.
  • Not more than 32 years is the age.
  • Aspiring candidates must hand in a letter of motivation and complete the online application process.
