The thematic focus of the Associate Professional Programme of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is to provide recent university graduates and postgraduates with the practical skills required for the successful adaptation to the IRENA environment of work, hence enabling them to have a broader outlook in the field of renewable energy.
The program runs once per year, and there is a possibility to extend it for another year. The selected individuals will be placed at IRENA’s headquarters located in Abu Dhabi city. The remuneration for Associate Professionals is between USD 50,377 and USD 58,737 annually.

Eligibility Criteria
Education: Possession of an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Science, or fields related to Renewable Energy.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in renewable energy resource assessment, with advanced proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and proficient knowledge of programming languages.
Language: Excellent command over both written and spoken English is mandatory. Proficiency in other languages is advantageous.
Skills: Strong quantitative and data analytical skills, along with proficiency in Excel and IT.
