The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union are collaborating to host the Global Youth Dialogue Conference, in Italy in 2023.
This exciting gathering will take place at the headquarters in Rome, Italy. The main goal of this event is to bring around 200 young individuals from different parts of the world each with their own professional and academic backgrounds.
You can rest assured that all participants will receive support as the organizers will cover expenses for airfare tickets, visas, accommodation and a daily allowance.
The Global Youth Dialogue Conference welcomes Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. Students as farmers or producers and scientists. Applicants should be between 21 and 35 years old. Prior to the conference, in Italy, all participants will also take part in a training session.

Expectations for Youth Dialogue
The Global Youth Dialogue Conference offers a space for individuals, from around the world to share and discuss their thoughts on sustainable livestock transformation.
Attendees will have the chance to interact with delegates, from FAO Members, producer organizations, research institutions, development agencies, non-profit organizations and businesses. The conference strives to ensure that young people are actively involved in the dialogue.
Financial Benefits
A limited number of travel grants will be provided for chosen participants, from low-income countries.
These grants will cover flight tickets, visa expenses, accommodation and daily allowances. However, all other participants will be responsible, for covering their expenses.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the Global Youth Dialogue Conference, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Age: 21-35 years old
- Language: Working knowledge (level C) of English
- Academic and/or professional background in livestock production and health
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program related to livestock production and health (e.g., veterinary science, animal science, agriculture, biology, animal genetics, animal nutrition, animal production, food studies), or graduates
- Proven work experience in livestock production and health
