When You're Sick, Do You Exercise?

When it comes to working out while ill, there are two schools of thought. On the one hand, being sick is the body’s way of reminding you that it needs to rest and recharge its batteries. Working out, on the other hand, is beneficial to our mental health and can also aid in healing. So, which is the correct answer? Let’s talk about it.

Normally, no
The fact of the matter is that each circumstance is unique. When you’re sick, working out is the very worst thing you can do, particularly if you’re feeling faint or have a high fever. There are moments when it’s obvious that what you need is water and rest. So, when do you know it’s safe to go for a run?

Sensing Strength
When you’re sick, the safest time to exercise is when you’re starting to get a sense of what’s going on around you. If you’re still sick, but you’re starting to feel like getting up and eating some good food, it might be time to work out. It’s important to note that even though you work out when sick, you can always take it easy. After being sick, you should avoid overexerting yourself and doing too much too soon.
